We have all been raised in and around music and it’s definitely something that we want to continue doing throughout our lives. Being able to be in a band together allows us to continue doing that while still having fun and it pays for some of the expenses. While we are still just starting out and didn’t even initially think of being a full-on “band” when we had our first few gigs, we are looking forward to the opportunities ahead. My work life balance has dramatically changed since the start of my career. In college, being in art school and being a creative person were (and still are) huge facets of my identity. I tied a lot of my self worth with my ability to create. As I grew into being a creative professional, first in my art career and now as a photographer, I have been able to separate the two and find much more peace. When I was younger I wanted to give up countless times. I’ve had a pretty bad speech impediment my whole life. As long as I can remember, I struggled with my speech and it completely shaped me.
