Meet Tiffany Duck | Travel Advisor & Crafter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Duck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, I started out helping my cousin make tshirts and the thought of starting a business was not on my agenda. However one day while I was shopping in Walmart they had a cricut machine on clearance and I knew I couldn’t leave it there. My intentions when I purchased it was to monogram
And customize things for myself and my children. But one day someone asked me to make them a birthday shirt and I’ve been going strong ever since. Crafting to me is very therapeutic and I enjoy doing it. My thoughts were why not make money while doing something that you love or that brings you joy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In addition to my crafting business I am currently a Banker at a local bank here in South Carolina. I’ve always wanted to to work in the finance industry but I was afraid I didn’t have the qualifications to do so. After working at a school cafeteria for almost a year, my friend Destiny reached out and say “hey my bank is hiring, come apply.” That was almost four years ago and I love it. I just graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with my degree in Business Administration. Going to college, working full time, being a single parent and going through a divorce was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. This degree will not only help me expand my crafting business but I can further my career in the financial industry. I have set the tone for my children. They can see that if mommy works hard and can do all these things so can we.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like adventure and nature. Let’s refraise I like a little bit of adventure and nature. Ideally of my best friend came to visit me, We would go to the park or the lake and enjoy lunch there. I would take her to a comedy show because laughter is good for the soul. Another day could
Consist of going to nursery to buy new plants or just shopping in general. Of course we would have to visit family and our other friends, this could include a cookout or
Dinner at a restaurant. As much as I like adventure and nature, my love language is quality time. Spending time together would be enough for me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I don’t want to just shout out one person but instead my entire family. They have been my biggest supporters and encourage me to do and try new things all the times. Someone is always bringing me something they saw on social media and asking me have I ever tried this or can you make this. Most of the time my answer is no but I will try. They end up loving the results. Without them I would not be where I am today.
