We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Osborne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I absolutely love being a mom. It’s difficult to pinpoint a specific thing, but being consistent with my son has always been important. That includes being consistent in showing him love, respect, support, and guidance. I’ve always prioritized an active and interested role in his life, and his confidence really reflects that. It’s easy to get distracted in our current environment, but parenting is always worth the effort.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Originally from Michigan, I moved to Greenville in 2016, and my artwork is what brought me to this sunny state!
I specialize in fine-line and illustrative style tattoos, and I am also a physician-backed Permanent Cosmetics Technician and Paramedical Tattoo Artist.
There are always challenges in the industry, but staying consistent, allowing criticism to be constructive, and getting to know the clients and community I work with have always been helpful.
I love knowing that my artwork has made a difference. I may do a memorable first tattoo, matching tattoos for a pair of siblings, a memorial for a loved one, or help a cancer survivor reclaim their body.
Body modification is incredibly identity-affirming, and it’s incredible to be a part of the journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I recently had the opportunity to treat both family and friends around this lovely city.
There are so many great places to choose from.
Some of our favorite places to eat/drink include:
Sushi Masa
Sidewall Pizza
Society
Barista Alley
Sweet Basil Thai
Corona Mexican Restaurant
Methodical Coffee
Korean BBQ

We also love spending time at:
The Greenville Zoo
Paris Mountain State Park
M. Judson Booksellers
Unity Park and The Commons

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am without the love and encouragement of so many wonderful people.
My family at home are my biggest supporters, so the first shoutouts go to my husband, John, and our son, Remy.
John’s family tattoo studio is where my career began, and over a decade later, he’s still cheering me on while cooking dinner and helping with homework. With his support, I’m able to focus on being the best artist and mother I can be.
I’ve also got to shoutout my amazing clientele. You guys are unmatched! I love hearing your stories and being a part of so many beautiful projects.
