We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Middleton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
The Mad Smash provides a safe space for people to release stress and emotions. Acknowledging negative feelings can help individuals let go and move through difficult experiences. The goal is to give people an opportunity to lighten their emotional load so they can be happier and spread more happiness to others.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Starting my business was a total leap of faith and even though it wasn’t easy, things fell into place as in ways that I could not have orchestrated myself. The biggest decision I had to make was that I was going to keep going no matter what and the business would be a success. Even when the answers were not readily available, I took every next step put in front of me and another step would always appear.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Falls Park is on the top of the list for sights with a stop by Spill the Beans. We would definitely play some putt-putt at Group Therapy, view the city from the rooftop at SIP and spend one of our evenings over to Taylors Mill for some dinner and entertainment. We would get some scones and local produce at Swamp Rabbit Cafe and go for a hike at Paris Mountain State Park. Some other fun things are going to a Greenville Triumph or Drive game and going to a performance at The Peace Center.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my former BNI (Business Networking International) group, Masters of Success. The members of the group really supported me starting this new type of business that none of us had heard of. They gave me feedback and suggestions, they spread the word to help get me going, visited my business and shared about it on social media, and they still regularly donate glass! Without them I’m not sure I would have had the courage to take such a huge risk.
