We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammara J Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tammara J, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
I have learned that when it comes to vision there is a process that prepares you to steward the vision well. Many times I would get these elaborate visions in my head. I wouldn’t pray about them nor did I set goals, or actionable steps to get to the end. This left me disappointed and frustrated, and I had no clear roadmap. I just started doing things that I believed made sense to me. I do however believe all of these things eventually worked out for my good, In Hindsight looking back I don’t recommend doing that. Partnering with God DAILY in my business is my secret sauce. He created the vision and then created the gifts in me needed to cultivate, nurture, and steward the vision.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is centered on empowering women, particularly those over 40, to thrive in marketplace ministry by merging faith, purpose, and style. What sets us apart is our focus on holistic transformation—both spiritually and practically. We help women embrace their calling with confidence while making a statement with their personal and professional presence.
One of the most exciting aspects of my work is the opportunity to build a community of like-minded women who are stepping into leadership roles and living out their faith in their everyday lives. Seeing the transformation in their confidence, their style, and their purpose is truly rewarding.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy, but it’s been worth every challenge. In the beginning, I faced a lot of self-doubt and the pressure to conform to traditional business models. But I stayed true to my vision, grounded in faith, and focused on serving others. Along the way, I learned to embrace change, take bold risks, and lean on the power of God, community, and collaboration.
The key lesson I’ve learned is that success doesn’t come from simply following trends or chasing what others are doing. It comes from being authentic, serving your audience with integrity, and aligning your work with your values. It’s also essential to stay resilient, adapt to challenges, and always remain grounded in your “why.”
What I want the world to know is that our brand is not just about style or business; it’s about purpose. We’re helping women step into their God-given roles in the marketplace, not just looking good but doing good and making an impact. My story is a testimony that, with faith and persistence, you can break barriers and create something that truly matters.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not from Greenville, SC I’m from Alabama. I haven’t found my favorite spots, YET!. My friends and family are homebodies we love spending time with each other cooking, watching movies, and playing games just enjoying quality time. If we decide to venture out we google places. I definitely would Head to Falls Park on the Reedy, a stunning park with waterfalls and the iconic Liberty Bridge. Take a stroll or rent bikes to explore the Swamp Rabbit Trail this time of the year.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother Ketty Belle Meeks passed on June 24, 2024. In her passing, I learned more about God, her, myself, and what really matters at the end of it all. When you witness someone who once was this mighty being, go through death, It gives you an entire different perspective about everything.
