Meet Heath Fowler | Singer / songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heath Fowler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heath, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I would say it started when I was a child. I was around music and musicians. It was going on sub consciously in my mind. I started off playing baseball as a kid then one day I went to a Garth Brooks concert, at that moment I knew exactly what i wanted to do. I got a guitar and taught myself to play. Once I really dove into it I started loving all avenues from the playing end to recording it. There’s just something about music that runs through your veins. It’s so addictive yet satisfying. Imagine a world where there’s no music playing. How boring would that be!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t know that I’m set apart from others like me but I feel that what I do is a little different. I try to keep my sound traditional and unique. When I write songs I base them on personal experiences but I try to relate them to experiences others have had as well. What got me to the point I am now was lots of messing up haha! You learn from mistakes and turn them into blessings. There were lots of obstacles to overcome along the way. You have to do good and get better so you can build up your name . Your name is your reputation in the music business. I’ve learned that you can’t make everyone happy and that’s ok! It’s been a struggle at times but you have to stay positive but it’s not always gonna storm but after it does there’s always sunshine right!?! I truly believe that everyone can reach their dreams. It just takes dedication, determination, and a whole bunch of I can and I will!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my city which is very small I’d have them come out to some local watering holes for some great drinks and food such as The Inman Beer Vault. Another great places that has always open arm welcome me to play. But if you travel out about 15 mins or so there’s another great place called Nu-way that has some of the best burgers around and live music.
Depending on the time of year there’s lots of local places that have music outside as well. Besides that type of scene we have the mountains close by that have some of the best scenery around. The upstate area is home to lots of great places to see and experience. If you’re up for a drive the beach isn’t that far either. All these place have always gave me lots of material that plays a part of who I am.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to say I’d definitely dedicate my success to my Nannie, mom, and daughter for always encouraging me to keep going but most of all God deserves the glory for giving me the talent and opening doors along the way!
