We had the good fortune of connecting with Selvbrea SeVen Stone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Selvbrea SeVen, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be one of empowerment and education. I want people to remember me as a dedicated farmer who was passionate about teaching others about the importance of sustainability and self-sufficiency. I want to inspire a new generation to be mindful of where their food comes from and how they can make a positive impact on the environment. I want to be remembered as someone who instilled valuable skills and knowledge in youth, helping them to become more self-reliant and confident individuals. Ultimately, I want to leave a lasting impact on my community and inspire others to follow in my footsteps in promoting a more sustainable future for generations to come.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from others is my commitment to not only providing fresh, sustainable food options for my community but also educating and empowering them to take control of their own health and well-being through food literacy and self-sufficiency. I am most proud of the impact my farm has on the community, not just in terms of providing food security but also in fostering a sense of empowerment and connection to the land.

Getting to where I am today business-wise has definitely not been easy. As a Black female farmer in a predominantly white male industry, I have faced numerous challenges and obstacles along the way. However, through persistence, dedication, and a strong belief in the importance of my mission, I have been able to overcome these challenges and build a successful and impactful business.

One of the key lessons I have learned along the way is the importance of community support and collaboration. By working together with other farmers, educators, and community members, we are able to amplify our impact and reach more people with our message of sustainability and self-sufficiency.

I want the world to know that my farm is about so much more than just growing food. We are about nourishing bodies, minds, and spirits, and empowering individuals to take control of their own health and well-being. Our story is one of resilience, dedication, and community, and I hope to inspire others to join us in the fight for a more sustainable and equitable food system.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would visit the Lake Monticello Park in Jenkinville SC. Barn Express has the best Soulfood in Winnsboro. We would visit the antique store in downtown Winnsboro. We can enjoy the NiteLife a couple miles away in Chapin.
