We had the good fortune of connecting with Duncan Therrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Duncan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks is crucial for success. Without it, the band wouldn’t have been able to exist. Starting a new project is always a risk in itself. Every time we release our music, we are uncertain about how the public will react. However, it’s important to have confidence in your work. Regardless of any risks, if you are content with your creation, you should put it out there.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Lost Foxes is a band comprising Duncan Therrell, Sarah Lowry, Andrew McGaughran, and Ethan Cancino. Their goal is to create music that people can benefit from and brings them together. They began their musical journey in their bedrooms and released their self-titled album. Their music style is a cross between Indie Pop, Alternative, and Anti-Pop, making it a truly unique listening experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Personally, I’d probably go chill at Bridge City Coffee for a bit. They’ve got amazing coffee and a fantastic environment. After that, I might go to Falls Park and walk around for a bit, then stop by Spill the Beans to cool off. Later in the evening, I would probably visit a local music venue such as Radio Room to see what shows are happening there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to the other members of the band – Sarah Lowry, Ethan Cancino, and Andrew McGaughran. Their contributions have been significant in making our upcoming project a success. Without their collaboration, we couldn’t have achieved the level of music we are proud of. I also want to shout out friend of the band, author, and artist C. M. Chiang. She has played a vital role in creating and designing graphics and artwork for the band and has been a massive help in everything we have done.
