We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Janeè and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, how do you think about risk?
I think risk should always be sought after to bring balance to your life without fear or doubt. The role risk taking has played its part in my life and career is that you’ll never know what’s on the other side of the door if you don’t take a leap of faith. What’s meant for you will always be for you until you have that mindset you’ll become fearless!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I created the blueprint to my Podcast it came from a place where I am considered to being the “black sheep” of my family and friend circle at the time always showing love and support to others but it was rarely reciprocated when it come to what I wanted to do and have a passion about. Being the underdog and once the pandemic hit we all as a collective had to quarantine at home due to Covid-19 and social media was the worlds gateway to communicate and to see our loved ones on Facebook & Instagram Live. As the pandemic era went on November 2, 2021 an idea came to me as “outside” was opening back up to build my podcast on mental healing while I was starting to awaken in my own spirituality journey. The Grand Talk Podcast focuses on me and my guest and where we are on our own personal mental health journey that are overlooked due to the things we desire to accomplish in life by our families and close friends to address the elephant in the room and have real relatable stories to help the next person who tunes in to watch and listen on each and every episode. The Journey of shadow work never comes easy it’s ongoing with unlearning some of the things that were taught to what traditional living looked like being raised in the south going to church on Sundays, Bible study on Wednesdays, and getting baptized. I do believe in God but Jesus Christ never saved me Spiritually did meaning my Ancestors and Orishas I spoke on this topic on my Podcast Season 2 Ep 1 on my IG Podcast page (@alexisjaneegrandtalkigpodcast) with guest Katherine Philavong (Real Estate Agent & owns her own nail technician salon) Overcoming challenges I kept putting myself out there by networking and reaching out to those who are working a 9-5 job as an Emergency Service Technician at my local emergency room in my hometown that are associated with such Public Figures to have my voice heard to reach those I need to reach with messages all over the world. I’ve welcome Morgan Danielle on my Podcast which is the life partner of Public Figure Comedian Desi Banks during my first year on Instagram Live and we’ve formed a great bond from that interview to her personally inviting me to a Pop Up Shop in Georgia earlier this year to support her online boutique called, ‘Morgan Danielle’s Closet’ (follow her on Instagram) My Podcast has opened up doors for me to now I’m was recently selected to model for Icon Studios in Atlanta, GA and I have Interned for 2HotRadio The Hip Hop Awards Weekend at their event as a judge for independent musical artists and now I’m considering acting as well on my list! I plan for my brand to reach its full potential and success as I watch it bloom to save lives, and as an ER Tech I love to learn and help others because you don’t know what the next person is going through in their life. We all have a story and while I’m here I’m ready to tell mine!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would highly recommend ‘The Lounge’ in Greenville, SC that is owned by a great friend of mine Danielle Britt…which also has made a guest appearance on the Grand Talk Podcast as Season 2 Ep 6 on my YouTube channel (Alexis Janeè) the food tastes great, drinks are always on point, and some of the best djs that gets you up on your feet! I haven’t experienced a week long of vacation trip …let me get my passport ready and I’ll come back to this question for recommendations!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a huge shoutout to Da’Vinchi, whose acting career started from TV series such as “Grown-ish”, “All American”, “Thoughts Of A Colored Man” (on Broadway) and “BMF” and has role played in movies like “Real Love” and “Strength Of A Woman” both executive produced by the Queen of Hip Hop and R&B Mary J Blige. I have been following Da’Vinchi for almost a little over a year in a half on social media, and what stuck out to me the most is that he’s the “new kid on the block” in the entertainment industry that is so humbled for the work he’s put in thus far in his career as first generation Haitian-American in his family where his roots are from Haiti and grew up in Brooklyn, New York and later in Central Florida! He has just finished wrapping up his Mental Health Tours with Capital One Cafè and McDonald’s Franchise to HBCUs where he’s talked about his own personal mental healing journey, childhood traumas, committing crime and going to jail at a very young teen age before he turned his life around and has made great success in his career. And also, how he utilizes his platform to incorporate not shying away from his mental health journey by touring state to state at his comedy show “Da’Vinchi & Friends” along with some of his cast mates from hit TV show “BMF” which tells the story behind Black Mafia Family that was allegedly organized by King Pin Demetrius ‘Big Meech’ Flenory and his brother Terry Flenory. I’m giving his flowers now while he can still smell them because I admired the fact that he is actually doing the work on himself in his spiritual journey the first step is to acknowledge and address what you need to change. Put up healthy boundaries is a must and most of all give your inner child the healing that he or she deserves as an adult, and to love yourself first!
