We had the good fortune of connecting with Weslye Saunders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Weslye, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I started “WIN with WES” and Wes Joose as a way to combat many issues that plague our communities worldwide. Gut health, mental wellness, and trauma healing are all vital aspects to living a life of abundance. I have struggled with issues in my own life that could have been alleviated with proper nutrition and an understanding of what healing really looks like! I just aim to pass that wisdom on to others.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I always say, I didn’t start my business, but my business started me. Once I was introduced to a healthier lifestyle and way of thinking, I couldn’t wait to share it with others.
Gut health, meditation, exercise, words of affirmation; it all matters! And we must give ourselves grace. This generation of social media and expectations, leads to people putting more pressure on themselves that are sometimes unrealistic.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live on the beach so I’d take them to the water! Sun, sand, and salt water is not only good for the body but also for the soul!
And in a place like Miami that promotes excessive spending and vanity, sometimes simpler is better. .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I always take time to recognize my father and his influence on my life and career. Barry Saunders is a renowned award-winning columnist and public figure in North Carolina. His ability to engage audiences with his witty, yet insightful columns, led to my love for reading and journalism! But also, he showed me the importance of humility and our duty to help serve others who are less fortunate.
