Meet Trevor Williams | Owner of Righteous Relentless

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevor, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Long story short I’ve always wanted a clothing brand since a teenager, I almost went to college for fashion at the Art Institute of Charleston, but God had other plans for my life, and that was surrendering my life to Him, and receiving salvation. Years later i after i got married to my wife i started to have an itch of wanting to start a clothing brand, due to the fact that at the time i didn’t see many Christian streetwear brands and if they were Christian clothing brands they weren’t my style. I didn’t have the courage to start the brand, due to the fact that i didn’t believe that it was something God wanted me to do. On my 26th Birthday, my wife gifted me two shirts that changed my life. One said “Righteous Relentless” and the other said “Relentless”, My wife looked into my eyes and said “You have the vision, now run with it.” and that day Righteous Relentless was born. Righteous Relentless, was founded in March of 2020, and officially launched on May 21, 2020.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Righteous Relentless Seeks to provide high-quality streetwear for believers and followers of Christ. Most of our pieces have been detailed from the design, founded on scripture with a related and modern twist, and also from the quality. From our gospel vintage tees, basic designs, hats, hoodies, and sweat pants, We believe in doing everything with excellence and truly releasing items that are relevant in the time we’re in. I believe how we get to where we are today is by faith, trusting in the timing of God, and consistency! It hasn’t been easy at all but I had to learn to be relentless and not give up when times got hard and things aren’t working. I’ve learned that don’t give up on the vision God has given me, and when God is in a thing, nothing can stop it. I just have to make the decision to keep going and find other ways to get the job done. I want the world to know about my brand is that we truly walk out the name Righteous Relentless. Before anything is released from our brand, i believe God tested us through those items that you love.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s a few that deserve recognition

First God, without him leading the way for my life and Righteous Relentless, none of this would be possible. I truly believe that it’s his guidance making this all likely to gain the success we have reached in the few years we’ve been established. The only thing i have done is be obedient to his voice and allow him to lead the way. No matter what obstacles we’ve faced he continues to show himself faithful and to show us that he’s a part of this movement.

Second, my wife. Without her obedience to God when she made those two shirts for my birthday, i truly believe I wouldn’t be doing this today. She is not only the co-founder of this brand, but she has been the glue that keeps me going. She has been someone who listens to my frustrations and comforts me when I’m discouraged about how things are going in different seasons of my life or business. She was a person who told me things that I needed to hear, but I didn’t want to hear at times. She has been everything and a great supporter of everything I’ve done.

Third, my leaders, Apostle Theotis and Elder Vernether White my pastor have been a big part of my journey. They have been such great encouragers, and supporters, and have spoken life into me when I needed the most. They allowed me outside of being an owner of Righteous Relentless to be myself. To flow in my uniqueness and be who God called me to be on this earth. For so long I had a hard time being myself and allowing myself to flow in my uniqueness. I believe they allowing me to be free to flow in my uniqueness gave me a way to use that same authenticity to go into my brand, and to see the success it has brought us. Righteous Relentless means being who God called you to be on this earth, to embracing your uniqueness even those who say “it’s weird”, but God calls it beauty and there’s a remnant that needs the uniqueness that you have and God calls marked you to be right with him and to not give us on your dreams or in life. That’s what Righteous Relentless is all about. We didn’t choose God, God chose us. Also, shoutout to Zion Hopewell Full Gospel Worship Center my church is awesome and has been such a great supporter for us.

Lastly, my family. When I started this journey I didn’t expect my family to support me, but they did and they supported me before anyone did and that meant a lot to me. My mother, sister, mother-in-love, and grandparents-in-law have been great supporters helping with any behind-the-scenes work, they are truly apart of our team and help push the vision.
