Meet TeNari Parker | Body & Skincare Formulator

We had the good fortune of connecting with TeNari Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TeNari, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I gained the idea of starting a body and skincare business from my hobby of making scrubs for myself. Having sensitive skin is not the best when trying to buy in store products to care for your skin. The many dyes and chemicals in certain products would break me out and leave my skin feeling unhealthy. My alternative was to make my own scrubs and oils with natural ingredients to help me obtain the healthy glowing skin I’ve always wanted. Now that I’ve successfully turned my hobby into a business , I pride myself on using vegan and cruelty free ingredients. Caring for your skin should be second nature. With my determination and passion that I have for business to continue to grow. I want to encourage woman and girls to understand the importance of self care.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Imperial Body is set apart from other beauty brands because we don’t just sell you a product. You become apart of a community of women and girls who indulge in self care products while adding to our confidence. The long work hours , taking care of kids , school , and wanting the best for ourselves can be an overload. We are here to take a little bit of stress off your skincare/ body care needs. As you purchase our elegant products you’re gaining healthy glowing skin along with upgrading your self care routine.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you have friends coming to town , I would say take them to lunch/dinner at Hyman’s Seafood in Downtown, Charleston. They have some amazing seafood dishes and the service is great. For scenery purposes , I would say visit  one of our beautiful beaches , Isle of Palm is my favorite located in Mount Pleasant. There’s also some good food places on the strip near the beach as well that you can try. Wanting something sweet and savory? I would recommend Duck Donuts for their warm and oh so sweet donuts located in West Ashley. To maybe finish the day off , try taking  a walk at one of the local parks or on the bridge for the best views. I personally like going to the movies and grabbing dinner at any place I have not tried , so that would also be great to do. 

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Who we are is shaped by so many people as is success in business, its hard to name just one. I want to first thank god for giving me the idea and vision to execute. I also have to thank my mom who has supported me and connected me with so many amazing people. I have also read a couple of books that have helped. One book that I’m currently reading is called ” The Garden Within”, and this book has been life changing as I shift my thinking emotionally and spiritually. Reading is one form of self care / therapy for my mind that I enjoy. Although, allowing my hobby to become a business to help women and girls understand the importance of self care with body and skincare products is where my community is being built. As The Imperial Body provides skincare , body care , we also share the importance of loving ones self. Self care starts with you , but we provide the products to help you upgrade the entire routine.
