We had the good fortune of connecting with Tempestt Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tempestt, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Balance has definitely changed over time. My family has grown I’ve decided to focus more on spending time with them. I cut out a lot of social events and focused more on self care in my free time. Work has become easier to handle and less stressful. The balance is prioritized by most and least important. God and my family are always top priority.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is film, styling and design in entertainment through production. My ideas normal come from a vision in my head to see something different and unique on screen and sometimes one of our fashion shows or my personal sketches. I’ve been an artist since I was 5 years old and it blows my mind that I ended up in film. It’s truly the best job ever.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would tell people to visit Carowinds in the Summer and be sure to also visit Spartanburg for the holidays. Nov. 8-Dec. 23: Artists from around Spartanburg will have handcrafted paintings, pottery, jewelry, for sale during this month-plus long artisan market.
