We had the good fortune of connecting with Suyin Nunez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suyin, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I think the biggest habit I have is to never give up, always keep trying because we don’t know when we’ll achieve it. Being responsible in everything I do and keeping my word when executing any business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Do I recommend it? It has been the best decision I have made in my entire life. I worked for 8 years in hair salons, in 2022 I decided to open my own business at home, I made all the arrangements to have a totally legal business from the comfort of my home, with a space with all the amenities of a salon. I listened to each client because they did not like going to a large salon, they all said after covid I was affected and I want something more private, so I created a beauty and personalized work suite, just the client and I, they love it, they feel at home, they can talk about topics without anyone listening, tell me their problems or celebrate some achievement of theirs.

It was quite a challenge since there were people who were jealous of my work and how well I do it and they wanted to send me an inspection and to their surprise the inspection was 100% approved. We should not do everything to please people, please yourself and that will give you the happiness you are looking for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in Florida, but I have family in South Carolina, so I visit them a lot. In North Charleston, I would recommend crossing the Cooper River Bridge. At the entrance to the bridge, there is an excellent place to walk, see nature, and eat some delicious ice cream. I am not a big fan of alcohol, but I am a big fan of food, haha. I really like the restaurants in the area, like La Hacienda and Vivas, and of course, taking a stroll through Myrtle Beach.

In Orlando FL, You can definitely visit Disney, Universal, and Sea World theme parks. I love eating at Texas of Brazil, the Cheesecake Factory, and Brusters ice cream, not to mention the Venezuelan food trucks like El Importado and Alans Burger.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A very important person whom I would like to thank a lot would be my hairdressing teacher in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Daniel Vazquez, who saw my potential and believed that I could achieve it at only 24 years old. My boyfriend and current husband, who helped me a lot 10 years ago by supporting me financially and mentally to pursue this career in order to emigrate, since living in my native country, Venezuela, was not an option.
