We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephon Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephon, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success has been faith. Being blessed with opportunities and others pouring into me is the reason I’ve made it this far. My name has made it into rooms I’ve never stepped foot in because of people believing and investing into me and my dream. My mother and my village is what I credit my success to also, because they keep me grounded and continue to help me on this journey.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Street Gamez is an innovative mobile gaming & entertainment venture that began in Tampa, FL. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I founded it at just 13 years old. Now, at 18 years old, I am proud to be making significant progress in the gaming and mobile entertainment industry, offering unique experiences to gamers across three states. Currently, we operate a mobile gaming theater in Tampa and surrounding areas, as well as a Mobile gaming lounge serving Charlotte, Rock Hill, and their surrounding area in the Carolinas. Our other services include an inflatable movie theater, silent headphones, and a foam machine. Getting this far hasn’t been easy at all. My biggest obstacle was the Covid pandemic. During the pandemic, Street Gamez faced significant challenges but we used them as opportunities to grow. We diversified our services by introducing the inflatable movie theater, foam parties, and silent headphone parties, and hosted free “pop-out” events to not only promote but also support the community and bring people together to create memories during difficult times. Through this journey I’ve learned many lessons like learning from your mistakes and improving, being able to adapt to new environments, learning time management, and to stay persistent regardless of what people think and say. Always stay true to yourself and Don’t just play the game, change the game.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Monday – Basketball runs and Power House Food Hall for lunch
Tuesday – Top Golf (Half Off)
Wednesday – U.S National WhiteWater Center and J.R Cash’s Grill and Bar for lunch
Thursday – Charlotte Premium Outlets and KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot for Dinner
Friday – All day at Carowinds
Saturday – Explore Uptown Charlotte
Sunday – Hornets NBA Game and Sakura Hibachi for dinner
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My forever shoutout would go to my mother, Tiffany-Autumn Bell, for all her hard-work and support. Also my village for supporting, uplifting and mentoring me. People pouring into you changes things. If people knew what was and could have been in my story they’d understand something as small as encouragement.
