Meet Shay Cole | Author, Poet, & Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shay Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shay, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Involving my children in my business has proven to be more beneficial to my success than I could have ever imagined. Explaining to them what moves I make and why they are important helps them to see how much their support pushes me forward.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have been an entrepreneur most of my life. It takes hard work, determination, and grit to fight through the hard days and see the vision come to light. Realizing that your support and guidance will likely come from people and places you wouldn’t imagine. As a writer, I have shown my skills and inspired others to show theirs. As an author, I have told my stories and helped others to share their stories. As a consultant, I have learned many lessons and guided clients through their business journeys to help them achieve success. It takes a team to build a business and I pride myself on being a great member of the team.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am often occupied with business and work so we would explore the city together and see what some of the best spots are along the way.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Angel, Aidan, and Aiyana; my three babies. Your love and support has been the driving force of my success. You have given me the strength to take risks, try new things, and I appreciate you.
