We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhonda Samuel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rhonda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My work balance has changed drastically over the year. I currently work full time at DHEC from 8:30-5:00. Once I get off I go straight to my shop for my first appointment at 5:30. There are some days I don’t get out the sho until 10:00 pm. Then once I go home and get settle I have online work I have to finish up. I’m currently taking online medical classes also. On top of that I have a 4 year old also so I have to make sure all his stuff is done and his homework is finished before goin lg to bed.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of our business is Precious Pearls Beauty Bar & Spa/ The SV Beauty Experience. We are a wellness and beauty spa that caters to women of all ages and backgrounds. We specialize is Body Sculpting, V-Steams, Detox Services, Weightloss Services, Waxing, Facials and we also sell Natural & Organic Herbs. We take pride in making sure our clients are not only feeling good on the outside but also on the inside.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We currently have a new pizza place in Darlington called Leo’s Pizza. The owner is Cinque Purefoy and my business partner Sidra manages the front end staff . I would definitely take her there. They don’t only sell pizza but they have homemade lasagna, subs, salad, wings and etc. Then we would go downtown Florence were there is a cigar bar called Leaf. There you can watch Tv, have a drink and also smoke a cigar. The next morning I would let her enjoy a day of getting pampered at our spa.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My business partner Sidra Valonte definitely needs a huge shoutout. She graduated from Esthetician School earlier this year, helps run a restaurant, and have 2 beautiful daughters. Sidra amazes me how she makes sure everyone is ok before focusing on herself. I can be having an emotional day and for some strange reason she always knows without me telling her. I have watched her grow as a person and as a business owner in the last couple of years by building her brand while raising two girls. She never complains and she always have a smile on her face
