We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Beaudry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
One of the most rewarding aspects about being behind the chair is the ability to make people smile. When we look our best, we often tend to feel our best. Hearing my clients tell me that they feel most beautiful after their hair appointment makes me the happiest. Having a career that gives me the ability to not only make people feel beautiful, but to also create a safe space to laugh, cry, talk, or even sit in silence is such a blessing and is something I will be forever grateful for.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One of the main reason I like to include artist alongside my title of hairstylist is because of the outflow of creativity that I get to practice on a daily basis. There is so much more to hair than meets the eye and that excites me more than anything. Whether it’s a creative cut or a custom color/extension install. Each of my clients are perfectly unique, and they allow me to practice creating magic each day. Having a wide range of tools and techniques allows me to broaden my horizons in this industry, and without my clients I wouldn’t be where I am today!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have many favorite spots here in the Lowcountry! Most are hidden gems but all equally as beautiful!

Favorite place to walk through would be The Flowertown Garden Center here in Summerville. As a fellow plant lover, this place is like heaven on earth. I love getting lost in the beauty of the flowers and plants.

As for grabbing a bite, I’ve been LOVING La Rustica in downtown Summerville. It’s the perfect little date night spot with the best atmosphere and food around!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a shoutout to my mentor Dhana Vastano. She taught me everything I know and is one of God’s greatest gifts to this world. Aside from her profound knowledge on everything hair, she is so full of life and love and undoubtedly brightens up every room she enters. Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. With all my love, thank you to all our teachers and thank you most of all to Ms. Dhana.
