We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what matters most to you?
Gratitude. There is nothing in life that hasnt been influenced by others or circumstances around. These times whether considered good or bad affected us with encouragement or as a lesson. Either way it sets us up with an opportunity to grow. In that, I am thankful. You physiologically can not be grateful and stressed at the same time. Having gratitude is contagious and influential.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been fortunate to explore and appreciate the natural wonders that surround us. What captivates me the most are the intricate details in every scene. Whether it’s the way light delicately dances across a hidden spot, the tactile sensation of texture in a seemingly simple subject, or the enigmatic interplay between reflections and shadows, these elements constantly draw me in.
For me, photography is about more than just capturing a moment in time or documenting a specific location. It’s about evoking emotions, stimulating thoughts, and provoking questions. It’s about creating images that inspire desire, that leave a lasting impact on the viewer.
The biggest challenge is struggling to feel that you are good enough to be represented and to sell to collectors. Believing and Doing. Just keep putting your work out there. You created the art for you take joy in that. when someone collects it that is the bonus.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them along the hidden alleys of downtown Charleston and wonder along the flower filled plantations. Spend some time watching the sun rise and kiss the marsh grasses and search the sandy shore for sharks teeth. For dinner we would settle into some hidden gems and classic haunts to Bowens Island, Mo’s Crosstown, Three Little Birds.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
