We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Kunz & Kristin Socci and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole Kunz & Kristin Socci, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Southern Bubbles is the dedicated time and effort we put into each and every picnic to ensure that every last detail is perfect. We only take one picnic per day to make certain that our focus is solely on that one particular client for their special celebration. Leading up to our picnics, we spend a lot of time working with the clients to achieve the theme or goal for their picnic. Be it a surprise engagement, a themed bachelorette party or a birthday party, we customize each event to meet the needs of our clients. We realize that we are a part of making some very special memories for people and we strive to do our best!

What should our readers know about your business?
Southern Bubbles strives to be the best luxury picnic company in the Charleston area. We use high quality, stylish products on our tablescapes, create beautiful fresh floral centerpieces and work with our clients to create an overall theme of pleasing aesthetics for each and every picnic. Southern Bubbles, which launched almost two years ago, continues to grow with each season. We are continually investing in the company and adding new and exciting pieces to our picnic collections. Starting a company is never easy, but working together, we have enjoyed the process and grown along the way. We have learned a lot about weather, ocean tides, working with different types of clients and how to best meet everyone’s needs. With each picnic we host, we receive additional accolades from our clients, who have been blown away by their picnic set ups. We know there are many picnic companies out there, but we want them to know that ours is the best!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We just love Charleston! There are so many amazing restaurants and fun things to do. With the beaches nearby, Shem Creek and the city all within a 20 minute radius, there is always something going on! A few of our favorite restaurants include FIG, Sorelle, Costa, Zero George, 167 Raw, The Ordinary, Shiki, Little Jacks, Lewis Barbecue, Obstinate Daughter and Co-Op. We could keep going, but we will stop there. For drinks, we like Edmunds Oast, Ritual and The Dewberry. We love taking a boat out and exploring the Charleston area by water. We also love shopping our way down King Street and taking in all the sites. A beach day followed by dinner on Sullivan’s Island is also a great way to spend the day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For our shout out, Southern Bubbles would like to recognize our dear friend Teresa Pasierb. When we first moved to Charleston, she came to visit from NYC and suggested the idea of a luxury picnic business. She introduced us to a picnic company called Picnic and Peonies (www.picnicandpeonies.com) who has grown tremendously and has taken luxury picnics to the next level. We started brainstorming our own company and it took off from there!
