We had the good fortune of connecting with NaTasha Riling and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi NaTasha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
You know starting a business can be scary cause you really don’t know how it’s going to turn out. If your heart is telling you to do it but your mind is telling you something else. I have been there follow your heart and all your dreams will come true. At first, it won’t be easy. You will have your ups and downs, but you continue to fight continue to show this is what you want. Never give up.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hello, My Name, is NaTasha Riling, the owner of Blue Eyez Photography in Charleston, S.C. I’ve always known since being a little girl that I wanted to be a photographer. Growing up being photogenic with a great personality would be a perfect fit for me. I have been taking pictures for over 15 years. I have taken classes. I went to school and stayed up many late nights. I wanted to give up many days/nights. Before my mom passed away. She would always tell me don’t give up you got this fight, and you will be what you want to be when you grow up. I’m proud of where I am at today because I never gave up on what I wanted in life. Life will never be easy, but you fight, and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. One of the hardest things in the Charleston area is when there are other people running the same business as you don’t have a business license much less a business license for the county that they are in. But they will get caught one day. So remember to always ask if they have a business license. This hobby is not the just pick up a camera and say I’m a photographer.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go to Folly Beach light house. I Would take my bestie downtown Charleston to do a little shopping. we would go eat at Vicious biscuits. Go have drinks at The rooftop at the Vendue Maybe go to the Luxe Wine Bar Let’s not forget to go to o’Lacys Pub
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to Thank Angela for having my back and being there for me in every step of the way. I want to thank my children and all my clients for trusting me with their memories.
