We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Tapia-Mularski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monica, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
As a mother of 2, a wife, a daughter, friend, founder, CEO and overall servant leader, I do not stutter when I say there is no such thing as perfect balance. At one point, I think it was a trendy thing to talk about “balancing it all” but we’re at a point where being real, raw and honest is significantly more valuable than a false sense of perfection. There is no such thing as perfect balance when you’re a working parent of any kind – entrepreneur or not. There will always be one area of your life that is receiving a little less attention at any given time. You absolutely can DO IT ALL but you are human and you can’t DO IT ALL perfectly all the time. Accepting this is key.
All of that being said, I have put people in place in my life that assist me in being able to execute all that I want and need to do on a daily basis. Having a support system is crucial to being able to scale a business or grow within a company.
When you wake up, you have many balls in the air. Some are glass and some are rubber. Identify which ones are glass on that day and be okay with allowing the rubber ones to fall if needed. They will bounce.
Prioritizing is key but acknowledge that every day is different.
The balls will change from rubber to glass and back again, depending on the day.
Work life “balance” is never perfect but when you love what you’re doing in life and work, that’s perfectly okay.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Season 2 Consign, founded by Monica Tapia-Mularski and Erika Tapia Schrieber, brings over 15 years of expertise in the luxury handbag resale industry. Recognizing a significant gap in the market, the sisters established a contemporary and streamlined consignment model that offers an elevated aesthetic and unparalleled customer service.

MISSION
Our mission is to establish a secure digital platform that fosters trust and integrity for both consignors and customers. We prioritize building strong relationships through our product cycle, ensuring the highest quality of service with a concierge-style approach.

As our company has expanded, we have grown into a franchise business model, partnering with trusted individuals to open showroom/offices nationwide. These partners uphold the same high standards and commitment to service that Season 2 Consign has always delivered locally.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, my sister Erika. She is my co-founder and the creative visionary of our two companies. Our husbands, Leon (my husband) and Mark (Erika’s husband). They are the grounding forces in our lives. They are the voices of reason and the support system we rely on when the harder days come.
We also rely tremendously on our family for support: Our parents – Luis & Liney, our grandmother – Dalia and my mother in law – Mary. We would NEVER be able to do all we do without their support. They are our village.
