We had the good fortune of connecting with Meghan Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meghan, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balancing the work it takes in building my brand (Healing Hands llc) and my life has been (honestly) a difficult process that I am still navigating. At the beginning it was more extreme than what it is now because I literally was going off what I saw modeled for others, and wasn’t modeled to fit me. So, as I grew personally so has the business. I have come into the knowledge that entrepreneurship and personal development go hand and hand for growth and achieving balance. I think about balance as being a determinate factor for success in anything that I seek to achieve. Because everything in life requires a certain standard of balance.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a creative, womb healing advocate for a alternative holistic lifestyle that goes deeper than just womb healing. I also offer products and services for the collective. What sets me apart from others is that I have poured the essence of me and my being into what I create and I am genuinely, colorfully, eccentric! What makes me proud & excited is witnessing the overall growth from when I started to where I am now four years after, it’s like wowwwww I’ve really taken something from inside and with hard work created something beneficial that not only helps me. Helps others as well, here tangibly. I got where I am today professionally by remaining focused on what I started for and that is to be of service to my community. It definitely has not been easy. I have had to overcome the challenges by remembering who I am and remaining true to the ME that is inside me. I also had trusted mentors to learn on when I wasn’t feeling so balanced. So that helps tremendously. One of the biggest lessons that I’ve learned along the way is that I am not alone on this journey, help & guidance is just a phone call away. I simply want the world to know (by being a example) that anything the mind can dream/think of can be achieved with discipline, determination, a solid team and hard work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hmmm interesting question, considering that I am still fresh to the area where I am residing in now, which is Hartsville South Carolina. Beautiful town by the way…. I would have to research and plan an itinerary that is centered around the downtown Coker college area. I also am aware of the botanical gardens that are here and happenings on the lake side area…..I wouldn’t be closed to getting ideas from the community that I have been welcomed into.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well as I have grown over time on my journey I have been fortunate to connect with many different people, mentor wise, a few organizations and have read many different books that have been extremely vital to the growth and development of healing Hands. One mentor in particular is my personal mentor named Queen Malik, she has assisted me in my herb knowledge, personal development and business wise…… overall she has been such a super supportive woman of strength and love that I definitely have to give her a shout out…
