We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorin Ball and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to do what I loved and enjoy the company of people who found joy in it as well.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My Gym Flow Vault, Parkour and Ninja is now in it’s 8th year of business. In this time we have always operated from a place of how can we improve our services not just for the clients but, the coaches as well. What would help make them happier and how can we best serve them and their personal goals both in and outside the gym. Not only how can we do these things but, how can we consciously do these things in the most fun way possible. This recognition was most apparent during the pandemic when we had to close our doors for several months. We told all of our members, nearly 200 at the time we were going to freeze their memberships for them and the very next day we had a flood of emails and messages from around 70% of them telling us to continue charging their cards during the lockdowns because they wanted to support us no matter the cost. So if there’s one thing the world should know about our story it’s the support of all these amazing people who love what they do and the love they have for each other.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This depends entirely on what the friend likes. For the outdoor adventurer I would take them out to Ouray and Telluride to explore all the abandoned ghost towns and mining sites.
For the casual hiker probably Saint Mary’s Glacier or Brainard Lake.
For non hiking but, still outdoors then either Trail Ridge Road or mount Evans.
For climbing then around Golden, combined with the free beer tour at Coors which then gives you restaurant coupons for in town for lunch.
For Ninja Warrior training I would say Ninja Intensity in Castle Rock.
For music / concert stuff a good show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
For Club Dancing either Vinyl, or Beta. Unless your into country then Grizzly rose.
For drinks, Olingers, View house, 1UP, or Punchbowl Social.
For Ski or Snowboard or dog sledding Breckenridge.
I could go on …

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I was always fond of the joy that came from Parkour and acrobatic movement. Watching YouTube videos and meeting others in my area who also practiced and supported each other. This support lead me to the film industry as a Stunt Man. My Stunt Team opened up opportunities for Parkour jobs and eventually an audition for American Ninja Warrior. This expanded my network vastly and opened even more doors for me. So all these people deserve credit for the love they continue to share.
