We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Dove and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
You’re mad bonkers. Off your head… but I’ll tell you a secret all the best people are.

I think the best thing to do is start.
I chose a career that genuinely sets my soul on fire.

Stay consistent, stay in your vision, have smart goals and plans. The rest is stepping out on Faith and leaving it up to Him.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love being in my craft. It’s my favorite activity to express myself and who I am as an artist.

I am most excited about the projects we have coming up, new product launches, and new features.

It’s definitely not been all rainbows and butterflies, more like bumps twirls and twists a long the way but I’m finding in the lowest points is where I learn the most.
I also find I create my best work during these times.

I’ve learned the people you think will support you won’t. Your clients will turn into some of your best friends/family. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Fill yourself up first!

The Charm Squad started in 2016 when we decided to take our glam kits on the road!
Everywhere we bring the charm is a safe place and space. You can be yourself and not have to worry. We want you to feel like your most comfortable and confident self!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start with a run to Greenhouse Coffee, then head to the Catawba River Park for a hike and beautiful views. Eat some bbq go to Charleston catch some waves and rays walk around King street go to the market paddle board under a full moon go sing karaoke with my girls!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is going to my Madre.

She has always supported me in everything I do and has always been my #1 fan.

If y’all don’t know, I call her Madre because she never listens to me when I just call her mom. 😂
