We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Neely and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Prior to becoming a residential builder, I was a home inspector for 9 years. During the course of that career, my job was to locate problems and issues in a home. I wanted to be able to not only locate the problems, but fix them as well and provide value to the homeowner. I am a fourth generation builder and it’s in my blood. It’s what I’ve always wanted to do. It’s my passion and I have joy in helping renovate and build homes for families. Homes that will take care of them and provide family memories for years to come.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started Neely Builder Group four years ago and it’s always been an aspiration of mine to own and operate a home building company. The extensive background as a home inspector gives me a unique understanding of the entire construction process. We are a turnkey builder that helps homeowners dream, design and build. We take someone’s dream and make it a reality. We walk homeowners through the process and help take the burden and stress out of a renovation process so they can enjoy it.
I was born and raised in Greenville so it is very important to me to be dependable, trustworthy and honest and we have worked really hard to build a solid company based on word-of-mouth referrals. It is my goal to do the best quality work possible. Making a house a home is very important and we want to help homeowners love the space they are in. But beyond the construction or the aesthetics, beauty is also found in the function of the space. As a family company, we aim to provide a strong level of trust through the relationships we build.
There are many lessons I’ve learned along the way. The most valuable lesson is to always be honest, always show up on time and always have the homeowner’s back, no matter what. We are only as good as the people that work with us and we are proud to have a great team by our side!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start out in Travelers Rest, eating a great breakfast at Tandem. We’d walk around the town and take a bike ride on the Swamp Rabbit Trail to downtown Greenville and back, stopping at a couple breweries and restaurants along the way.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my wife and two incredible boys. For without them, I don’t know where I’d be.
