We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Garbart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyle, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We often get asked how we came up with the name Trident Health and Chiropractic. There are a few reasons. The Trident is the most powerful weapon of the sea just as chiropractic is a powerful tool to improve overall wellness. The Trident is made up of 3 prongs just as chiropractic is made up of 3 components: the art, the science, and the philosophy.
What should our readers know about your business?
First of all, opening your own business 3 weeks after graduation is no easy task. School prepares you to care for patients, they do not prepare you for opening your own business. We have learned so much from this process and we are constantly looking for new ways to do things to make the experience for our patients better. I think that is what sets us apart from others. Tabitha and I look for the latest technology, use the technology on ourselves first to see if we get good results before we decide to offer it in the office. I also did 7 months of additional training after graduation to earn my certification as a chiropractic extremity practitioner. I am the only active extremity practitioner in Spartanburg County and one of only 1600 in the United States. I will always be a lifelong learner because my patients deserve that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Spartanburg has so many cool and interesting things. My wife and I love walking on the various trails in town. We love eating at local restaurants like the Fretwell, El Conquistador, the Kennedy, Dray Bar and Grill, Fratello’s, Dudley’s, and La Taverna. Plank owners always has good music on the weekends and we love to just walk around downtown. Our favorite activity is doing escape rooms and now that Spartanburg has Trapped in the Upstate we don’t have to drive to Greer!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The first shout out is definitely to my wife and business partner, Tabitha Garbart. When I decided to go back to school at 43, she fully supported me through the journey. From helping me study to being my first patient she was there every step of the way. Then when we decided to open our own business right out of school, she helped me design the office space to ensure our patients would feel welcomed and it would be a place of relaxation. She now works in the office with me. We make a great team! We are constantly coming up with new ideas to bring into the office to ensure that our patients have the maximum benefit from our care.
