We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Rodgers-Clora and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I founded the Jacqueline Rodgers Foundation Inc. to support breast cancer patients who, like my mother, have faced the challenges of this disease. The foundation aims to provide resources, emotional support, and a sense of community for those affected by breast cancer, ensuring they do not have to navigate this journey alone.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I began working in the nonprofit sector ten years ago, driven by a desire to provide financial assistance to women battling breast cancer. What sets us apart is our focus on easing the day-to-day financial stress that patients face after a diagnosis, allowing them to concentrate on their health and recovery. I’m particularly proud of our ability to make a tangible difference in their lives.
Getting to where we are today hasn’t been easy. We’ve faced challenges, including raising awareness and securing funding, but we’ve persevered through a strong belief in our mission and the support of a dedicated team. One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of empathy and community—building a network of support is crucial both for the organization and for the individuals we serve.
Through the Jacqueline Rodgers Foundation Inc., we strive to be a beacon of hope and support for those navigating the difficult journey of breast cancer. Our story is one of resilience, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to making a positive impact.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to my husband, David Clora, my sister, Joy Clark, and my friend, Renee Andrews. Their unwavering support, love, and encouragement have been instrumental in my journey. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their incredible support and belief in my vision .
