Hi Kelsay, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because I grew up immersed in a world where creativity was part of everyday life. My mother owned a salon for over 20 years, and my aunt is an interior designer, along with our family’s business in flooring, design, staging, and real estate exposed me early on to the profound impact of aesthetics and design. But it was fashion that truly captivated my heart, turning into a personal creative passion that constantly intrigued me. This passion guided me through earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising Management. Having spent over ten years in the fashion industry, I have explored how these diverse creative fields could synergize, ultimately leading me to establish Luxe Marketing Co., where I have merged my diverse creative interests and experiences into a career that not only fulfilled my creative passions but has also allowed me to empower other creative businesses to shine.

What should our readers know about your business?
Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, I founded Luxe Marketing Co. in 2022, after a decade of experience in high fashion, luxury marketing, digital commerce, and more. My roots and diverse creative experiences shaped my approach to helping brands articulate their unique identity. At Luxe, our passion lies in digging deep to uncover and amplify the ‘WHY’ behind each brand. We specialize in personal and lifestyle branding, alongside digital marketing, and other services, which allows us to bring our clients out of their shells both personally and professionally.

Building Luxe Marketing Co. was not without its challenges. The journey required navigating a competitive market, where standing out demands not only creativity but strategic insight. I overcame these challenges by staying true to our core values and continuously learning from each experience. The key lesson has been the importance of authenticity and transparency in building lasting relationships and trust with our clients.

We do more than craft compelling brand identities; we dig deep into the art and science of branding, guiding our clients through a journey of self and brand discovery. This commitment to deep, meaningful engagement is what sets us apart. We ensure every client’s vision is not only achieved but honored.

I want the world to know that Luxe Marketing Co. is more than a marketing agency; it is a reflection of a lifelong dream to make a significant impact in the creative world. It is here that we foster a culture of innovation and empowerment, driven by passion, precision, and the desire to make every brand we touch truly remarkable.

I have also founded the Empowered Babe Collective, a community rooted in faith that supports women in their personal and professional growth. This initiative reflects our broader mission to empower and connect, reinforcing our dedication to creating impactful and lasting change in the creative sectors.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1: Welcome and Downtown Charleston Discovery

Morning: Start with a coffee at The Daily, then explore downtown Charleston, including the Battery and Waterfront Park.
Afternoon: Grab lunch at Basic Kitchen, followed by shopping on King Street.
Evening: Dinner at Poogan’s Porch for traditional Southern cuisine.

Day 2: Beach and Casual Dining

Morning: Head to Folly Beach for sun and sand.
Afternoon: Lunch by the beach at Coconut Joe’s for coastal casual dining.
Evening: Dinner at The Crab Shack for all seafood faves.

Day 3: Historical Sites and Southern Flavors

Morning: Breakfast at Mercantile & Mash, then historical tours around downtown.
Afternoon: More shopping/sightseeing, then lunch at Miller’s All Day.
Evening: Enjoy an upscale dinner at 82 Queen.

Day 4: Park Circle Exploration

Morning: Start with coffee at Orange Spot Coffee in Park Circle. Spend the morning exploring the quaint shops in the area.
Afternoon: Head over to Firefly Distillery for a tour and tasting session of their renowned spirits. Since they also craft non-alcoholic beverages, I can enjoy a variety of tastings.
Evening: Grab an early dinner at Madra Rua, a favorite local spot that offers a cozy atmosphere and delicious fare.

Day 5: Luxurious Leisure and Dining

Morning: Enjoy brunch at The Junction, known for its delightful dishes, before heading out to explore Isle of Palms Beach.
Afternoon: Continue enjoying the beach or take part in local beachside activities.
Evening: Wind down with dinner at Islander 71 Fish House and Raw Bar, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and beautiful views in a relaxed setting.

Day 6: Chilled Out Shopping

Morning: Breakfast at Vicious Biscuit, then explore Mt. Pleasant Town Center for shopping.
Afternoon: More shopping or a relaxing afternoon at local cafes.
Evening: Indulge in a fine dinner at Halls Chophouse.

Day 7: Wrap-up with Elegance and History

Morning: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit followed by a final stroll through historical sites, The Battery, and Waterfront Park.
Afternoon: Last-minute purchases or a visit to Edmond’s Oast for a late lunch.
Evening: Farewell dinner at Stella’s for a taste of Greek cuisine.

While my journey to success has been uniquely shaped by personal perseverance and faith, it has also been richly influenced by those I’ve collaborated with. First and foremost, all honor and recognition go to God. It is through His grace that I navigate this journey, and every milestone achieved is a testament to His guidance and provision.

I am also deeply grateful for my clients, whose trust and collaboration have been pivotal to the growth of Luxe Marketing Co. Equally important is the vibrant network of creatives I’ve connected with; their inspiration and collaboration have been crucial, enriching both my personal and professional growth. Additionally, the extensive professional network I’ve cultivated has provided invaluable support and opened up numerous opportunities for growth and connection. These relationships have not only fueled my business but have also broadened my perspective, constantly pushing me toward innovation and excellence.
