We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Abeid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kayla, is there something you believe many others might not?
One piece of conventional advice that I challenge is the notion that in order to build a successful career, particularly as a mother, one must adopt a mindset of constant hustle and separation from their children. The traditional advice often encourages women to prioritize their professional ambitions over spending quality time with their families, perpetuating the belief that success requires sacrifice, especially in terms of time spent with loved ones. However, I firmly believe that it is possible for women to be both a dedicated mom and a successful boss without compromising either role. By challenging the conventional narrative, women can embrace a more holistic approach to their lives, recognizing that the pursuit of a fulfilling career and a nurturing family life can coexist harmoniously.
In my perspective, being a mom boss doesn’t have to mean sacrificing precious moments with your children. Instead of adhering to the idea that success requires constant separation, women can explore flexible work arrangements, prioritize self-care, and leverage their unique skills to create a career that complements their family life. By redefining the conventional advice, women can build careers that align with their values, allowing them to thrive both professionally and personally. The emphasis should be on finding a balance that enables women to be present for their families while pursuing their passions and professional goals.
As a mom and a professional committed to helping children and families heal, I discovered that the key to achieving success without sacrificing precious moments with my own family lay in embracing the digital world and being resourceful. Leveraging my expertise in the virtual and digital realms, I found innovative ways to reach more clients and make a more substantial impact on the lives of children and families.
Recognizing the need for balance in my own life, I made a strategic decision to invest in hiring the necessary support to streamline and expand my professional efforts within my brick and mortar practice. This not only allowed me to be more fulfilled personally but also had a positive impact on my family. Through this experience, I learned the importance of organic living, emphasizing healing and well-being within the family unit. By sharing my story and the lessons I’ve learned within my local private practice and within the virtual community I have created, I aim to empower other mothers to embrace a similar holistic approach by harmonizing their personal and professional lives to find freedom and sovereignty within the mother-child unit and its importance in thriving biologically. I teach individuals to thrive and heal their health and well-being by making intentional choices that prioritize both family and career, fostering congruency and cohesiveness for a more fulfilling and prosperous life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I would craft an itinerary that showcases the best of the Upstate, with a focus on nature and diverse culinary experiences. Our first stop would be the enchanting Hatcher Gardens, followed by a scenic hike along the Peter Creek Heritage Trail. To marvel at the Falls at Reedy Park and soak in breathtaking views, we’d make our way to Pretty Place and Sassafrass Mountain. For a day of outdoor adventure, Croft State Park would be a must-visit.
When it comes to dining, our taste buds would be treated to a culinary journey across the Upstate. We’d start with flavorful dishes at Monsoon Noodle House, savor the unique offerings at Cribbs Kitchen, indulge in the delicious fare at Taco Grill, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Willy Taco. Tupelo Honey would offer a taste of Southern charm, while Smoke on the Water and Pomegranate on Main would round out our dining experiences with their diverse menus. With this combination of natural wonders and culinary delights, the week would be a perfect blend of relaxation, exploration, and delicious discoveries.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am incredibly grateful for the support and inspiration I’ve received on my journey, and there are two integral components of my success story that I would like to highlight in this shoutout. First and foremost, I want to express my deep appreciation for my husband and soulmate, Dr. Anthony Abeid, who is not only a chiropractor but also a phenomenal source of encouragement and support. His unwavering belief in my abilities and his commitment to our shared vision of living biologically has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. He has played a pivotal role in fostering an environment that allows me to embrace my creative feminine essence, encouraging radical self-responsibility, self-care, self-love, and the establishment of healthy boundaries.
Additionally, I want to acknowledge the incredible community of radical women and sisters who have stood by my side, especially two of my best friends and fellow connected mothers and business owners, Erica & Kellie. Erica is a successful Massage Therapist and Kellie a skilled Esthetician and Reiki Practitioner, who both exemplify the importance of prioritizing love and well-being within the family unit. They both have been a constant pillar of support, pushing me to fulfill my role in feeding my heart and soul, emphasizing the significance of adequate rest, and urging me to honor myself first so that both my family and business can thrive. The collective energy of these strong female business owners, living their lives with sovereignty and prioritizing love, has been a driving force behind the co-creative energetics of my business and its subsequent success. I owe much of my accomplishments to these remarkable individuals who have played vital roles in my personal and professional journey.
