We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonah Pearl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I began working with, and had worked for a multi-op entertainment company for the past 14 years. After having a chance to be with them for many seasons, I had the chance to see, what I believe, they did right, and also what they did wrong. With all of the experience I was able to acquire along the way, I finally got to the point where I realized it was time to start working on, and investing in my own dream, rather than continuing to push the dream of someone who seemed to care less about it than I did.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I believe that life experience provides such varying context, and in my particular situation, the loss of my father, and my sister to cancer, in 2008, and 2010 respectively, gave me an appreciation for enjoying special moments while we have them. Having the opportunity to facilitate such incredibly special events in the form of weddings brings me so much joy, as I get the privilege to be a part of creating lasting memories for all of my clients and their families. Nothing excellent is easy, but the effort is worth it, so I love every challenge I encounter. The experience that I have earned over the years has prepared me to rise above every challenge thrown at me. I want the world to know that when you hire DJs On The Half Shell, you are getting an entertainment company that genuinely cares about each and every client.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people in the wedding industry that helped me get to where I am, so it is hard to narrow a shoutout to just one individual. I’d like to dedicate it to all of the wedding industry people that strive to go above and beyond to make our clients’ day a positively memorable one!
