We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Lee Reader and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica Lee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was driven by a deep passion for holistic health and a desire to empower others on their wellness journey. For years, I struggled with my own digestive issues and fatigue, and after trying conventional methods without success, I turned to holistic nutrition and yoga. The profound impact these approaches had on my health inspired me to help others achieve similar results.
I wanted to create a space where I could provide personalized guidance, combining nutrition, yoga, and mindfulness to address the root cause of digestive and metabolic issues. I saw a real need for a more integrated, sustainable approach to health, where clients could find balance, vitality, and long-lasting wellness. That’s how Vitalized Body came to life, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see clients transform their health through the programs I’ve created.
What should our readers know about your business?
At Vitalized Body, I bring over 15 years of experience specializing in improving digestion and metabolism naturally while reducing stress through holistic nutrition and yoga. I work with individuals, groups, and organizations to create customized programs, events, and retreats tailored to their unique needs and goals.
What sets me apart is my integrative approach, combining evidence-based nutritional strategies with the mindfulness of yoga. I believe that true wellness encompasses not only what we eat but also how we live, think, and feel. My mission is to guide people toward a vibrant, healthy life they love.
I’m particularly proud of the Metabolic Gut Health Reset Program, which empowers clients to take charge of their digestive health and metabolism through personalized nutrition plans and supportive coaching. Witnessing my clients thrive and regain their energy and vitality is incredibly rewarding.
In addition to my programs, I’m excited about building a community focused on wellness. I lead various yoga classes, forest bathing experiences, events, and retreats in natural settings throughout the Greenville, SC area and beyond. These experiences allow participants to connect with nature while deepening their wellness journey. I also collaborate with like-minded practitioners to create events that enhance our collective impact on community health and well-being.
I knew when I overcame my own digestive health issues that this was my path and passion. I will never give up on sharing what I’ve learned, continuing to learn, and supporting others. The journey to where I am today has not always been easy, but I’ve gained invaluable insights into running a business and embracing its creative aspects. I sought mentorship and embraced continuous learning while remaining committed to my vision.
Along the way, I’ve discovered the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the power of community. Collaboration can significantly amplify our impact.
I want the world to know that Vitalized Body is more than just a business; it’s a holistic movement toward optimal health and wellness. My story is rooted in personal experience and a genuine desire to help others. I am dedicated to making holistic health accessible and sustainable for everyone, and I invite anyone seeking support on their wellness journey to join me in this empowering experience.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Greenville, SC, I’d plan a week filled with healthy adventures and delicious eats.
City Day: We’d kick things off by exploring downtown Greenville, strolling through Falls Park, and taking in the stunning views. For lunch, we’d stop at Green Fetish, known for its fresh, wholesome options.
Mountain Day: Next, we’d head to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a day of breathtaking scenery and hiking, soaking up the beautiful mountain landscapes.
Nature Day: After that, we’d spend a day at Conestee Nature Preserve and the Swamp Rabbit Trail, enjoying nature walks and biking along the trails.
Beach Weekend: Finally, we’d take a weekend trip to Hilton Head. We’d relax at Coligny Beach, bring bikes to explore the trails, and visit the Sea Pines Forest Preserve for some hiking and birdwatching.
This itinerary would offer the perfect blend of urban exploration, mountain adventure, nature immersion, and beach relaxation!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my mentor, Char Leberer, the founder of the Nutrition Therapy Institute. She has been instrumental in my journey toward becoming a Master Nutrition Therapist and an Instructor at the school for over six years. Her guidance and support have provided me with invaluable knowledge and the confidence to pursue my passion for holistic wellness.
Additionally, I want to acknowledge the vibrant community of wellness professionals and fellow practitioners I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with. Organizations like the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches have fostered a supportive environment where we can share ideas and resources, enhancing our collective impact on our clients.
Lastly, I’m incredibly grateful for the countless clients who have entrusted me with their health journeys. Their openness to exploring new approaches and willingness to embrace change inspires me every day. It’s this shared commitment to health and well-being that truly fuels my passion for this work.
