We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Grove and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was rooted in a desire to align my passion for self-care and personal growth with a meaningful way to impact others. I wanted to create something that allowed me to share the transformative practices I’ve experienced firsthand, like mindfulness, mental health awareness, and holistic wellness, in a way that could truly help others.
I saw a gap in how self-care was often perceived—either as indulgent or unattainable—and felt driven to make it more accessible and sustainable for people in their daily lives. Building my own business also gave me the freedom to shape a program that’s authentic to who I am, where I can guide people through their own journeys of healing and personal development, while also creating a space for creativity, growth, and community.
Ultimately, it came down to a deep calling to share my heart, help others live more fulfilling lives, and create something that brings both joy and value to the world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work revolves around helping people cultivate a life of peace, purpose, and well-being through self-care and personal transformation. As a self-care life coach, I guide individuals on a journey to reconnect with themselves, release self-doubt, and create sustainable practices that support their mental, emotional, and physical health.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach—blending mindfulness, somatic practices like breathwork and EFT/Tapping, and personal growth tools to help my clients navigate challenges and embrace their full potential. I’m most proud of the programs I’ve created, like my 30-day program, The Art of Well-Being, and my 24-week self-care coaching program, which are designed to offer lasting transformation, not just temporary fixes.
Getting to where I am today has been a journey of perseverance, self-reflection, and growth. It wasn’t easy—there were moments of doubt and uncertainty, especially in building my business and trusting that my work could make an impact. One of the biggest challenges was overcoming imposter syndrome, but I leaned into my own self-care practices and relied on the support of my community and mentors to push through.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way include the importance of consistency, trusting yourself, and recognizing that growth takes time. It’s been essential to stay aligned with my core values, even when things felt tough, and to embrace both the highs and lows as part of the process.
What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that self-care isn’t just about indulgence or luxury—it’s about honoring yourself in ways that are accessible and nourishing. My mission is to help people break free from the idea that self-care is selfish or unattainable and instead embrace it as a path to living more fully, authentically, and joyfully.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week in Charleston and I wanted to give them the ultimate experience, here’s the itinerary I’d plan for them:
Day 1: Arrival & Relaxation
Stay: A charming Airbnb or a boutique hotel downtown, like The Dewberry or the Charleston Place for a luxurious Southern vibe.
Dinner: Kick things off with dinner at Husk, known for modern Southern cuisine. It’s in a historic home, which gives you the best of Charleston’s atmosphere and culinary innovation.
Drinks: Head to the rooftop bar at The Vendue for cocktails and a panoramic view of the Charleston skyline and waterfront.
Day 2: Historic Charleston & Local Eats
Breakfast: Start at Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit for some iconic Charleston biscuits. I’d suggest grabbing a few to-go and strolling down King Street.
Morning: Walk through Charleston’s Historic District and do a carriage tour to dive into the city’s rich history.
Lunch: 167 Raw on King Street for the freshest seafood – oysters and lobster rolls are a must.
Afternoon: Explore the Nathaniel Russell House or the Aiken-Rhett House Museum to see stunning antebellum architecture.
Dinner: For dinner, head to The Ordinary, a converted bank that now serves phenomenal seafood. Their oyster sliders and shellfish towers are legendary.
Evening: Drinks at The Cocktail Club (make sure that Tim Davis is singing) or The Belmont for craft cocktails in a cozy setting.
Day 3: Beach Day at Sullivan’s Island
Morning: Grab coffee and pastries from The Harbinger Cafe on the way to the beach.
Day: Spend the day lounging on Sullivan’s Island. You can rent paddleboards or just relax with a good book.

Evening: End the beach day with casual drinks and sunset views at Poe’s Tavern—a local haunt with great burgers and a laid-back vibe.
Day 4: Exploring Plantations & Gardens

Midday: Head over to Charleston Harbor for a kayak tour or a sunset boat cruise.

Evening: Head over to Leon’s Oyster Shop for dinner and then grab a scoop from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams for dessert.
Day 6: Explore Folly Beach
Morning: Take a drive out to Folly Beach for a more laid-back beach day with surfing, boogie boarding, or just lounging on the sand.
Lunch: Enjoy fish tacos and frozen cocktails at Taco Boy, right by the water.
Afternoon: Walk down to the Folly Beach Pier or rent bikes and explore Morris Island Lighthouse.
Dinner: On your way back, stop at Bowens Island Restaurant for fresh, local oysters while watching the sunset.
Day 7: Shopping, Galleries & Farewell Dinner
Morning: Start with brunch at Millers All Day, a local favorite for creative Southern breakfast dishes.
Shopping: Spend the morning shopping along King Street, checking out local boutiques and art galleries. Don’t miss The Gibbes Museum of Art for a bit of culture.
Afternoon: Get a little more adventurous by doing a ghost tour or Gullah tour to learn about Charleston’s history from a different perspective.
Farewell Dinner: End the trip with a fabulous dinner at Hall’s Chophouse, a Charleston institution known for steaks and Southern hospitality.
Bonus Fun:
Visit a Distillery: A stop at High Wire Distilling Co. or Firefly Distillery for tastings and tours would be a fun mid-day activity.
Theatre: Catch a performance at Dock Street Theatre or a jazz show at Forte Jazz Lounge if your friend loves live entertainment.
This itinerary combines Charleston’s history, food scene, beach culture, and outdoor adventures, offering the perfect balance of relaxation and excitement!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love this question because so much of my journey has been shaped by the incredible people and influences in my life. First and foremost, my family has been an unwavering source of support, always encouraging me to pursue my passions and be my authentic self. Their love has been my foundation.
I also want to shout out the incredible community of coaches and mentors I’ve had the privilege to learn from. Joining various coaching programs and containers has been transformative, especially those that have guided me through the inner work of self-care, mindfulness, and personal growth. A special mention goes to the amazing people in the wellness and coaching community who inspire me daily, reminding me of the importance of community, growth, and accountability.
Lastly, books like The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and Untamed by Glennon Doyle have been pivotal in shifting my mindset and fueling my mission to help others embrace their truth and find peace in their lives. My success is a collective effort, and I’m deeply grateful for every bit of love and guidance I’ve received along the way.
