Meet Jenna Weaver | Wife, Foster and Adoptive Mother, Location Leader for Isaiah 117 House

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Weaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, what matters most to you?
The value that matters most to me is compassion. Compassion lies at the heart of our mission to support children in foster care and the families who care for them. It drives us to provide a safe and nurturing environment for these vulnerable children, to advocate for their needs, and to offer support to the dedicated caseworkers and foster families who serve them. Compassion guides our actions every day, reminding us to see each child as an individual deserving of love, dignity, and to be seen and heard.

What should our readers know about your business?
We asked the question “What if there was a home where children could go when they are removed?” What if there was a safe place with friendly, loving volunteers? What if there was an environment with clean clothes, bath toys, snacks, comfy beds, and toys? What if, instead of cubicles, the traumatized child could see smiles, books, and snuggly blankets?

Isaiah 1:17 says, “defend the cause of the fatherless.” I believe that is what God was calling us to do. We saw a home with an open living space, a fully stocked kitchen, a girl’s bedroom, a boy’s bedroom, places to play, and fully stocked bathrooms. We saw a team of volunteers on call to greet “the least of these” when they need love most. We saw a place always ready to take in children in their time of need and lavishly love on them on one of their worst days. This was the dream for the Isaiah 117 House in February of 2017. It is now becoming a reality here in Greenville County. That is so exciting.

We know these homes have the potential to positively affect the children who are coming into custody in ways far beyond what we could ever imagine, as well as support the caseworkers and future foster families who are a part of their journey. I know these homes change the way foster care begins.

When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their safety, they are usually brought to a child welfare services office to await placement. This wait can be a few hours to several days. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in dirty clothing.

The mission of Isaiah 117 House is threefold:

reduce trauma for children awaiting placement

lighten the load for child welfare services

ease the transition for foster families

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to several pillars in my life who have been instrumental in shaping who I am today.

First and foremost, I owe everything to God and His saving grace. His love and guidance have been a constant source of strength and comfort, guiding me through both triumphs and challenges.

Next, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my husband. His unwavering support, love, and companionship have been my rock through every twist and turn of life’s journey. He’s not just my partner, but also an incredible father whose dedication and kindness inspire me daily.

And of course, I can’t overlook the immense influence my children have had on me. They are the driving force behind everything I do. Their resilience, bravery, and boundless love motivate me to be the best version of myself, day in and day out.
