We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamarius Leaphart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamarius, why did you pursue a creative career?
It’s what I was created to do. I have tried so many different things in life, but being able to create and be authentic in my creation brings me such a peace. It’s like when you are overwhelmed of something, and you pray and read a couple scriptures… and suddenly a peace and confidence just overtakes you.Yeah, That’s what it’s like. But you have to be careful because it can fuel you AND it can drain you. So having boundaries for other and yourself are very important. Being able to create to spread love, joy and some encouragement is all I want to do. I think of my brand as a ministry. I’m imperfect, but I serve a perfect father, so to be able to spread that message in different ways is all I think about honestly. I don’t really worry about what others say… I just authentically create from MY HEART!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe art is made specifically from the person’s perspective and experiences. I believe we all are set apart… only if you are authentic in your art and creativity. I am so proud to say that I am authentic in my art. I love being able to express myself through music, my books and my content creation. Speaking of music, I have new music out right now!! available on ALL streaming platforms. A country joint and a real lovers R&B song. Go get that. These two songs were created through some personal experiences, challenges and obstacles. No creator can be impactful if you don’t have a story to tell. People want to know that they are not alone out here in this cold world. Sometimes it feels like life is picking on you, and if you have someone who can be honest and say “I’ve been through that… here’s how I got through” you give people hope. I’ve learned that people don’t want perfection, they want REAL! So I want everyone reading this to know that whenever you encounter me- whether it’s my music, my books or my podcast… know that I am going to always be authentic.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love to eat! Haha, so I would probably go to Blosom- I love chinese food. We would definitely visit riverbank zoo because I love animals… especially Elephants and Lions. We are also going to Froyo to get ice cream… Basically eating, zoo and shopping! And I will also be showing them the countrysides of where I grew up.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
