Meet Dustin Jenkins | Artist and label owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dustin, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
To spark positive change in the world around me and to never feel like work is a pointless dead end with no growth opportunities. The world we live in is full of choices and I wanted to make sure that I had the ability to make the world a more loving and happy place with any decisions I make.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Huskie is my artist project I am dedicated to bringing a creative mix of mainstream bass music and underground experimental bass music to audiences everywhere. I’m proud to have changed the landscape of what is expected at anime convention dance parties as well as cultivating a loving caring vibe amongst my friends and fans!! The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you cannot achieve great things alone and to value those who truly support your cause with no expectations of what they may gain from it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start off by taking them to barts crazy good coffee shop in irmo to start the day. Then would go visit our zoo off graystone Blvd. Would get some farmboys barbecue for dinner and have a suprise pop up set at the river off candi lane as I love hanging at the river its always so beautiful and calm there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My best friend in the entire world Fox woods owner of Foxdream Photography without her my project would still be a hobby in my bedroom she fills so many roles and helps so much. Also my team at H-pack records there are many but im thankful for each and everyone of them for their dedication to my project.
