We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Chloe Parris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Chloe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind opening my practice was that I wanted to create a space that fostered healing and community. I did not want to be another chiropractor people went to when they were in pain and never again but a chiropractor that shows people the true potential of their bodies. I wanted to build a community that shows up for themselves and others to build each other up; a safe space where people could come to heal in all aspects of life, not just physical symptoms. In doing this, I also wanted to make it affordable and accessible so that people are able to make it a part of their lives! From all of this, 864 Chiropractic was born!
What should our readers know about your business?
864 Chiropractic is a safe haven for healing and bettering ourselves and the community around us. It is more than a chiropractic office but a space to feel safe and step away from the stress of the outside world. When you are a practice member here, you’re more than a number and cared for as a human being as a whole. One thing that makes 864 Chiropractic unique is being a membership-style practice. By having it set up this way, practice members know how much their care is going to cost monthly, without any surprise fees, so that they can make consistent chiropractic care a part of their everyday lives. I do my best to use the practice to give back to the community in any way I can whether that be donations to non-profits, drives for local organizations, or volunteering my time in the community!
The longer I am in practice, the more I realize that business is a constant pursuit of betterment, not only in the business but in your own life because your business is a direct reflection of yourself. The highs can be high and the lows can be low but it’s about learning to ride the wave because every day is a new day to learn something new and grow from it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were in town for the week, I would make sure we hit allll the best food spots Spartanburg has to offer! Some things high on my list would be tacos from Willy Taco, burgers from Cribb’s Kitchen, pasta from Sophia’s, steak from the Peddler, and of course fried chicken from Flock Shop! To balance out all the delicious food we would be eating we would have to hit some of the local trails on the Daniel Morgan Trail System, my favorite segments are the rail trail, cottonwood, and river birch. For drinks, we would be sure to hit Fr8yard, Delaneys, and RJ Rockers for a beer and have a glass of wine on the patio of Blue Moon Bodega. We would be sure to hit the HubCity Farmer’s market on Saturday morning and then grab some coffee from Little River Roasting or Spill the Beans!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I couldn’t be where I am in my business without the love and support of my boyfriend, Dallas. He has supported and encouraged me from day one, even in times when I didn’t believe in myself. I would not be able to be where I am today without him and there are not enough thank you’s in the world I could give him that show how much his support has meant to me!
I also would like to shoutout my family for their love and support throughout the entire process and for instilling in me that I can do whatever I put my mind and heart to!
