We had the good fortune of connecting with Dez Darby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dez, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind Done Right Auto Detailing is to make consumers feel like they chose the right detailer when performing services in their vehicle. I take my experiences and craft on what I do to make it known that I am the right person for the services. I wanted consumers to feel like they spent the hard earned money on their vehicle. When I leave they are amazed and pleased on what they had done to their vehicle.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Done Right Auto Detailing is a company that specializes in paint corrections and ceramic coatings. We do just about any vehicle, rv, marine, agricultural, and homes. The most thing I’m proud of is hearing from others that seen me started from the bottom and built my business up to something that took me years to accomplish. I got where I am today by the grace of God and having a vision on how I wanted my business to mold into. Was it easy, no it wasn’t. A lot of sleepless nights. Sometimes tears flowing and nobody noticed anything because I didn’t show my emotions. When I say I work so hard for this. I mean every minute of it. The lessons I learned is to never give up. Always take the negative feedback from people and turn it into a positive outcome. You got every opportunity to conquer your goals. You just got to know God got you with every step. I just want people to know that I appreciate everyone showing me so much business and opportunity in this field. I wouldn’t be anywhere if it wasn’t for people that took a chance on my professional services and being able to showcase my work. I started this business in a garage where I was charging $35 just to clean any vehicle. No matter how big or small. I’m thankful for the progress.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was in town. We definitely going to Gatlingburg. It is definitely a vibe and so much to do up there. No matter is taking your family on a trip to see the beautiful mountains and trying all different food places. Riding go karts and trying the different moonshine tastings at Pigeon Forge.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people I want to give credit to is my parents. First and foremost is my Lord and Savior. Without him I would not be anywhere without his guidance and assurance. Secondly, my parents pushed me into being a humble but entrepreneurial figure from watching them growing up. Managing their own business. Thirdly, I have to show love to my Uncle Tony. He pushes me to become better and always on me about new techniques. We talk everyday and he always have wisdom to show me something that I need to learn. Lastly, I got to show love to John with Interior Finesse Detailing. We done a lot of business but, we learn from each other techniques. We have done a lot of great projects together.
