We had the good fortune of connecting with Connie Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Connie, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Anyone can successfully run a business if they have the ability and knowledge to succeed, but aside from that, a real connection to customers and a heart for their health and happiness is what sets us apart from others! I have always listened carefully to what my customers concerns and needs are. I help and guide them to the best possible solutions for their personal needs.
I feel I’m a mother at heart, and I truly care about my clients and their wellbeing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my passion for creating, perfecting and evolving. You cannot remain stagnant and stay relevant. I am always learning, always improving – even if it’s a small tweak in packaging or upgrading a certain formula in a small but meaningful way. I’m proud to be the sole creator of my beauty and wellness products and I’m excited to see what the future of Lost River Naturals brings! My customers tell me that I have a gift for creating and I do agree that God instilled this gift in me for a purpose. I’m trying my best to live up to my potential and to be able to spread a little love and wellness to everyone in my path, even in some small way.
I got where I am today due to my persistence and determination. I feel that I have been called to this line of work, so I continue to move forward in faith and trust that we’ll be prosperous and able to continue our mission. Our mission is to bring health-promoting, wellness products to our community in the form of organic herbal remedies and botanical skin care.
We are passionate about health and wellness in a toxic world. Making small changes can have a big impact on overall health. Our brand is dedicated to producing and providing the highest quality botanical and natural creations possible! We scour the earth for only the finest ingredients to go into our products.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in our beautiful city are the historic plantations and gardens! My kids grew up going to these places, learning and playing and just enjoying the lovely local landscapes. Now that we have a brick and mortar store, we don’t get to visit these locations as much as we like to, but when we can get away, we like to go for a walk on the beach or a leisurely stroll downtown or at one of our favorite spots like Magnoila Plantation or Charlestowne Landing for a picnic.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and my 3 children are my biggest champions and they are always there to pump me up and stand beside me when I need support and encouragement! I know I can count on them to step up and step in for me when needed. My mom is also one of my biggest supporters and she has always been there with a smile, a hug and words of encouragement and love. I also have 2 sisters that recommend my services and products wherever they can, I guess I really lucked out in the support department because not only does my family help me immensely but my local community of friends and customers constantly recommend my business to their circle. Word of mouth is the biggest compliment and also the best way to advertise!
