We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Kendrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, what do you attribute your success to?
The people who come alongside me to work at Good To Go and make it what it is, and of course, the customers who shop with us.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a prepared meals market focusing on restaurant quality dishes that are fit to serve your family, day in and day out.
The quality and variety of our food is unmatched. We cook the way that we love to eat. We make sure that we are proud to our name on everything that means the kitchen.
Alongside the food, our focus is on taking care of every guest that shops with us. Our culture is built upon hospitality rather than simple service. We know the faces and favorites of all of our regulars.
How did we get to where we are? A lot of work. Every time I have wanted to give up, something kept me going. It’s never been easy but I refuse to quit now. I was able to overcome every challenge by focusing on the bigger picture and reminding myself that this is about so much more than casseroles. We regularly have terminally ill guests who cannot tolerate anything but our food… we serve new moms and cater funerals. So much life comes through our doors.
I want the world to know that we are an adaptable team. We plan to be along for a while. As the world evolves, so do we. We want to serve your family for a lifetime.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start downtown. We have enough to do in our walkable city to keep anyone entertained!
First, Jones Oyster Bar. They gave me a reason to say that Greenville has a restaurant that could rival the seafood in Charleston.
Next, Bricktops. It’s my go-to for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The food and service absolutely cannot be beat.
Cocktails to follow at the Westin to soak in some history.
M. Judson Bookstore is my favorite way to pass time on a Saturday, followed by a walk on the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
I’d also have to take them by Automatic Taco at The Commons for the best margarita of your life, paired with the best tacos in town!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I’m answering truthfully, I would say my mom and my best friend, Ashley. They put aside things that were going on in their own lives to dedicate their blood, sweat, and tears to my dream. I wouldn’t be here without them.
