We had the good fortune of connecting with BrizzNicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BrizzNicole, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I thought about what types of tasks that I truly enjoyed doing and quickly realized that if I could do something that I loved, then I would never “work” again. It wouldn’t feel like work. It would feel like purpose. That task for me was creating. Additionally, I needed to acknowledge that I had to make sacrifices in order to essentially monetize my hobby. It really clicked for me once I realized that if I could sacrifice my time for a job which ultimately fueled someone else’s dreams, then I could do the same for myself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is unique because I bring my personality into everything that I create. I love making people laugh! I also have a pharmacy background. So, when creating my own TikTok material (@ItsBrizzNicole) I include as much silliness as possible while still relaying the intended message. Similarly, when I am creating for clients (BrizzNicole LLC), I am constantly making them laugh which breaks the ice getting them to be as comfortable as possible while filming.
I’ve gotten to where I am professionally by being consistent, which sounds simple, but can be one of the hardest things to accomplish in a world filled with distractions. I’ve learned that you cannot allow yourself to get distracted nor influenced by what other people are doing. Comparison can only provide a distorted sense of reality which is not helpful because we are all in different positions on various paths for individual purposes.
My brand has been birthed from my journey to find myself again. I encourage everyone to remember things that they used to love to do as children, because for me it helped unlock passions that I had surely forgotten. But it’s not just about me because I absolutely love to spread the joy through laughter. If I can provide 30-45 seconds of relief from a stressful day through a video, then I can consider my brand a success.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m definitely taking my best friend for a walk around Falls Park downtown! The scenery is so relaxing and it’s perfect place to unwind during the evening before hitting some bars later on in the night. Those bars would include DT’s, City Tavern, and the night club Vine.
For food we would be cooking up some Korean BBQ on Woodruff Rd at Volcano! They have a very cute and interesting robot that delivers the uncooked food to the tables and dodges people walking which I find so hilarious and so fun to watch. And we can’t go without getting some cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory of course.
Another one of my favorite spots is Vibez Bar & Lounge and is definitely worth the short commute to Taylors from Greenville.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Gym Complex is an organization that definitely helped me develop personally and helped me excel in my own creativity. It is more than just a studio. It is a space where various artists can come together, collaborate, and workout their creative minds in a unique way.
