We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Zadoorian, CSP and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
There were a few deciding factors on why I started my own business. The first was a desire for independence. I wanted to work for myself doing the things I wanted to do. In my last job, I managed environmental, health, and safety. Now in my own business, I only focus on health and safety, which is what I have a true passion for. I now have more control over my service offerings. I also have an entrepreneurial spirit! I saw an opportunity to build something of my own, driven by the prospect of creating a successful business that delivers real value to clients.
I also noticed that there is a need for safety consulting services especially as OSHA regulations become more stringent and companies strive to avoid costly penalties and ensure the well-being of their employees. Safety professionals (and sometimes a facility manager who is responsible for safety) are often understaffed and need additional resources to keep their workplace safe and in compliance with OSHA regulations. I wanted to assist and coach those who need help in managing their workload when it comes to health and safety.
Last, I am an expert in OSHA Compliance for manufacturing facilities. I wanted to share my passion and knowledge with more than one facility. An OSHA-compliant workplace is much safer than a site that is not following OSHA regulations. I have a true passion for Safety. I have a genuine concern for workplace safety and believe in the importance of ensuring that manufacturing facilities follow safety regulations to protect workers.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Triangle Safety Consulting LLC is a boutique safety consulting firm. We listen to your problems and help you create and implement solutions specifically tailored to your business needs. There are no cookie-cutter solutions here! We are focused on ensuring that you receive immaculate safety consulting services that improve your workplace’s safety programs and OSHA compliance. We want your employees to go home safe and healthy every day!
I named my company “Triangle Safety Consulting LLC” as a tribute to the tragic Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire that occurred on March 25, 1911, in downtown New York. This fire resulted in the deaths of 146 workers, primarily women and girls, due to poor safety practices and inadequate emergency measures. The name “Triangle” serves as a reminder of this event and the importance of prioritizing safety in the workplace. By honoring the victims of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, our company aims to raise awareness about the need for comprehensive safety standards and practices in manufacturing facilities. We are dedicated to helping prevent similar incidents by providing education, hazard identification, and solutions to improve workplace safety conditions.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
On Friday night, we would go to City Scape Winery in Pelzer, SC. They have a fantastic atmosphere, food, and of course, wine!
Saturday morning, we would work out at Burn Boot Camp in Simpsonville. I have been coming to Burn since November 2023 and love the workouts! The trainers push you to be better than you were the day before.
By Saturday afternoon, we would head downtown Greenville to show my guests the iconic Liberty Bridge in Falls Park. We would walk through the park and over the bridge to see the beautiful falls from above. Fun fact, my husband proposed to me in Falls Park! Next, we would get lunch at Passerelle Bistro – my favorite spot for French Cuisine.
We would spend the day walking around the local shops and restaurants before stopping for dinner at Gather Greenville. This is a community food hall where everyone in your party can select the food and drinks they want. It’s a great place to hang out with friends or family!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to The American Society Of Safety Professionals (ASSP). They are an organization that brings safety professionals together to network and continue learning about occupational health and safety.
There are about 150 chapter communities where you can connect with others who share the same passion for safety. I have been volunteering with the ASSP Piedmont Chapter (Greenville, SC area) since 2018, and I have been President of the Chapter for the last 3 years.
The chapter has allowed me to build valuable connections with safety professionals in our area (and around the United States) and has helped me build up myself as a leader in the Safety Industry. Our chapter provides networking and continuous learning opportunities that have helped me build my career.
