We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandi, what inspires you?
On August 30th, we lost our son. Although Stone Henry Carter was only here for a short time, he left the biggest impact on our lives. We knew upon hearing the news that he passed away that God was in control, and that Stones life would have meaning.
It’s true what they say: “There is no footprint too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world.”
We are planning to open a coffee shop called “The Drip; Coffee for a Cause” (in the old Lindough Bakery space.) A portion of all of the sales from The Drip will benefit our new charity; The Stone Carter Foundation.
The Stone Carter Foundation is a charity that will provide financial resources, emotional support, and guidance to families who experience a stillborn birth or the loss of a young child.
We hope the name Stone Carter will be a light in this world. We love and miss our son terribly. Our hope is to live the rest of our lives making our son proud.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Creativity is my passion.
I have never been one of those people who are good with computers or technology.
However; if you stick a pencil in my hand, I can do wonders. I’m a hands-on learner and a hands-on worker!
I found a love for baking cupcakes years ago! I love that you start out with a bunch of ingredients and they all come together in the end to make a tiny masterpiece.
I have many years of baking experience. I’m so excited to start baking a new specialty item for The Drip; gourmet donuts! I’m taking my love of icing and cupcake creativity to a new level! I’m so excited for everyone to try this new dessert!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My husband and I are TOTAL FOODIES! We hope to open our own restaurant one day.
My absolute favorite Clemson area restaurants are Traditions on the Lake, Rick Erwin’s, Tokyo, and Walk On’s!
I love going to Clemson football games in the fall and spending time on Lake Hartwell in the summer!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband is my rock. I thank God every single day that Christopher Carter is my best friend.
I always have “BIG ideas.” Usually these ideas come with an even bigger price tag, ten times more effort, and lots of sacrifices.
When I proposed the idea of turning Lindough Bakery into a coffee shop that would benefit The Stone Carter foundation, he didn’t hesitate; it was an immediate yes.
He bends over backwards and goes out of his way to make sure my ideas take flight. I am extremely blessed and thankful to have a supportive husband. There is absolutely no one else I would rather embark on this new life adventure with.
