We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony (empathony) Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony (empathony), what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe the most important factor behind my success is staying consistent with my goals and practices, as well as staying genuine with my interactions.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is my perspective. It’s what I deem to be timeless moments of curated feelings and/or genuine connections. I am most excited about the process of creating, learning, and growing. I am naturally curious and I enjoy learning and experimenting. I got to where I am today by putting forth an effort, never giving up on my goals, and falling in love with the process.

The process wasn’t always easy or simple. Even if you try you cannot prepare for everything, so there are times when I have to think on my feet. Figure things out and/or teach myself a skill at a moment’s notice.

I’ve learned many lessons along the way. The one that circles my mind often is to be true to yourself. You can not satisfy everyone’s taste. The work you want to create will be your best work.

I want the world to know that even though I still make mistakes I am guided by love!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have a mix. I love a nice slow morning and day in. We would make our way to 14 Parish Restaurant for some food and drinks. Go to China Town check out some shops grab some food, boba maybe enjoy Ping Tom Park. Visit SAIC and some other smaller galleries to enjoy some art. Hopefully, we will find a nice Dj or other live music!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel many things deserve a shoutout and recognition in my story. My ancestors and family for mentoring me in life and pouring love into me so that I have a self-sustaining engine to move forward past my goals. My friends/team for being there as council, inspiration, and stepping up to help bring my ideas to reality.
