Meet Amy Smith

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It was always my dream to pursue various arts, such as music, art, and photography. I sang in church choir and took art classes in school, but never pursued anything beyond that for years due to having to work and raise my three girls as a single mom. It was after I met my husband T-Bone, who strongly encouraged me, that I took an active interest in pursuing these things all over again.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have learned away wirh my art skills that I love to draw and paint vintage and or antique sceneries that we all can relate to and to show the new centuries the challenges of showing them the things of the past and how the technologies have changed . This is a experiment of how we are taught to value and appreciate the things we have and show the different sceneneries that are no longer exist but as our elderly can relate to
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to our old drive in restaurant The Beacon known as there famous a plenty hamburger plates , take them to The famous Sugar and Spice restaurant know for their famous potato salad and that gives you a plenty,Then I would take them to Mr Jalapeños restaurant know well for their tender steaks and queso dip and chip
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, my husband T-Bone. He has been my best friend and encourager in rekindling my dreams pursue what I’m doing now. I didn’t really have anybody to really encourage me prior to him. And he stayed on me about and wouldn’t let me give up. He’s one of the rare ones who wants to see everyone succeed. And he will stay on you. But if you want something bad enough, he’ll help you get there. And that’s one of the reasons I love him so much. Also, I’ve quite a lot of folks-too many to mention here-who have helped me in my musical journey as a singer, sound tech, and photographer and videographer that I’ve met along the way. They deserve a lot of props too.
