We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Nicola and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I like this quote because it is straight forward. What it means to me is that whatever in life you are doing and if it doesn’t take you out of your comfort zone or if you aren’t learning anything from it then there will be no growth. Whether that is mentally, physically, emotionally, or financially. The obstacles we embrace molds us into the people we need to become in the specific journey we choose. The challenges of juggling my career and being a mother has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and change me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am photographer based in Florence. My interest sparked when I was modeling in 2018-2019. Turning photography into a business was a way to be able to create freely and be flexible for my family. We all get to a point of overthinking what is different about one’s business when others are doing the some and I think that’s a common struggle. A reminder to myself and others: We all may have the same information or equipment but we utilize it differently. My brand is about implementing confidence and curating core memories with individuals, their families, and businesses.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Eating spots: Lil Jazz on Dargan, Townhall, Ahola Ktchen

Drinks/Hangout: Lula’s Coffee, The Dispensary, The Loft

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to my husband, Jimmy Worthy. He’s been there from the start. Investing in my craft making sure I have everything when it comes to equipment I need, making sure the classes I took were paid. Jimmy will always come assist me during my sessions and instilling encouragement to keep pushing harder. God has blessed me. Another shoutout is to my good friend, my sister, Heaven Wilder, she has been so supportive since day one. Heaven is the type of friend that will promote you even on her bad day. When I need a model or even her to do a model’s makeup she always ready to work. No matter the time of day she will listen to my ideas and help me execute them. She is great business partner and sister!
