We had the good fortune of connecting with AARON TUCKER and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AARON, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
my goal when i started my art business was to put my work out there. for me, when my work is present in the art industry, i can not only create pieces for people to appreciate and hang in their homes, but also build my skill as a creator through consumer criticism. As my business continues to grow, I try to create pieces that not only reflect my own creative journey, but give others artwork that they can enjoy and value as well.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My artwork has changed throughout my creative journey but I have always valued simplicity. I try my best to break things down into simple shapes and colors while also creating a pleasing image. It was by no means easy to get to where I am today. It has taken a lot of perseverance and putting my work out there. Rejection is natural in the art industry and to overcome it, I listened to the critique and reflected on my own art which allowed me to create better pieces. Along the way i have learned not to give up my own vision, but to improve, grow and progress.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends visit Asheville I like to take them to White Duck Taco for some incredible tacos . After that I usually take them on a hike, there are so many great places to get into the woods around the area, such as Black Balsam where you can get in among the Pine trees and see great views. For Dinner I really enjoy Homegrown which has fresh local ingredients and a total relaxed Asheville vibe. for drinks, there are brewery’s on every corner, my favorite of which is Hillman because of its friendly atmosphere. having been in Asheville for thirty years, I never get tired of the gorgeous Mountain views, friendly people and great food
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As an artist, I am very grateful to all other artists that came before me and given me the desire to create my own work. One famous artist that stands out above the rest is Alexander Calder. His method of creation through play as well as his sense of design has always been an inspiration to me. His use of simple shapes and primary colors has influenced the way i create my own art
