We had the good fortune of connecting with Martiez & Nikki Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Martiez & Nikki, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As pastors, college educators, and mentors, we were constantly talking to people who weren’t satisfied with their life. Many people wanted more, especially in the relationships that mattered most to them: marriage/dating, family, friends, and God. We wanted to formally create a space to support people in their quest for “more,” because we knew so many people who were working through dissatisfaction or discontentment. Furthermore, we’ve been there ourselves and now recognize the beauty that can be revealed in/through those seasons, not just when those seasons end. So, we sought to help people experience more fulfillment in their relationships and everyday lives with God. We were already doing it through our local church, but during the pandemic, demand increased and we thought we should create a business to help more people.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us apart is our own journey of overcoming dissatisfaction in life and our relationship with each other. It allows us to empathize deeply and guide others authentically through similar struggles. There was a season in our life when things looked fine on the surface but felt hollow within. Despite wearing many hats—husband, wife, pastor, educator, and mentor— we found ourselves navigating discontentment.

Our marriage, though grounded in our faith, was not immune to the weight of unmet expectations, unspoken frustrations, and the grind of life’s demands. Instead of ignoring the whispers of dissatisfaction, we chose to confront them. This meant going to Therapy, facing. our “shadow”, learning to rest, and peeling back the layers of what we thought life and relationships should be.

This process wasn’t quick or easy, and we’re the first to admit that we’re still as much “students” of life as we are professional help. Overall, we believe this helps us empathize with people when we challenge them with different perspectives or invite them to vulnerability.

Dissatisfaction isn’t always a sign of failure—it’s often an invitation to growth. We know that life comes in seasons – and we’re not about running away from them. We want to help you learn to appreciate every season, good or bad, and grow from each one.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love good food, and some of our local favorites are Mr. Friendly’s, Kiki’s Chicken and Waffle, and Il Giorgione. For fun, we’ve enjoyed the river walk, USC women’s basketball, and Soda City. No week-long visit to Columbia is complete without Soda City.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people to thank for our burgeoning success, but none more than our friends, clients, and community supporters who have recommended us to their friends, families, and colleagues. Their fidelity and desire to help others have helped us support more people. They have connected us to other great organizations like Every Day Wellness and The Balm Counseling Center.
