We had the good fortune of connecting with Dial Up and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dial, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Dial Up was formed by a group of 90s kids who grew up loving the music and the culture of the decade. We’ve noticed the style and sound of the 90s making a comeback, and we’re all about it! Our goal is to create an immersive experience where people can relive that nostalgia—even if it’s just for a few hours. Bringing the laid-back vibes of the 90s to life and entertaining folks with the music we love is what we’re passionate about.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We’re a fun, high-energy 90s cover band with a unique twist. What sets us apart is our ability to immerse people in the full 90s experience. We combine our music with nostalgic visuals like old 90s commercials and lights to transport our audience back to their favorite decade. It’s not just about playing the hits—it’s about creating a Time Machine to relive the best moments of childhood.

Our journey hasn’t always been easy. We’ve played shows to empty rooms, struggled financially, and faced plenty of challenges along the way. But through it all, we’ve learned that our passion for music and the joy we bring to others makes it all worthwhile. We’re proud of where we are now and excited to continue bringing fun and nostalgia to every performance. Our mission is simple: give people an unforgettable experience and a trip back in time to the decade that shaped us all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If our best friend were visiting, we’d definitely want to show them the best of what Greenville has to offer. We’d start with lunch at Gather GVL, a great spot with tons of food options and a lively atmosphere. Afterward, we’d head over to Falls Park on the Reedy to enjoy the views and take a walk. For some fun and games, we’d stop by Group Therapy, grab drinks, and maybe challenge each other to a few rounds of mini golf. As the evening rolls in, we’d swing by Sip for rooftop views and cocktails, followed by a stop at Neat for a more intimate vibe and craft drinks. We’d finish the night with an incredible dinner at Jianna, enjoying their Italian-inspired dishes.

The next day would be all about nature. We’d head up into the mountains for a hike, soaking in some scenic views, and wrap the day up at Sierra Nevada Brewery for good food and great beer. A day biking along the Swamp Rabbit Trail is also a must, especially to check out the Travelers Rest area—filled with local eats, breweries, and a chill vibe that’s perfect for relaxing and enjoying the day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to give a big shoutout to our families. Their encouragement over the years has been everything. From music lessons and recitals to showing up at our gigs, their support has been constant and invaluable. We truly couldn’t have done it without them.
