We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgia Woodard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Georgia, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
That you’re somehow failing if you don’t pick a career path immediately out of high school or college and stick with it forever. Life happens and people grow and change – learning to be well rounded, flexible, and able to make a changes when they’re needed is a skill that can be incredibly helpful later in life.

Exploring, traveling and learning how to live outside of your comfort zone when you’re young is the best way to grow and learn so much about not only other people and the world but also yourself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In all my working experience, I’ve almost exclusively worked for or directly under female entrepreneurs, managers and CEO’s. This wasn’t necessarily on purpose but it provided me with a unique perspective as a young woman and professional, and allowed me to imagine myself as a business owner as well. During the pandemic, I became increasingly aware of my desire to work in a space that helped women feel like their best selves. As that need took shape, I followed the path of working in esthetics to help women feel powerful, comfortable and beautiful in their own skin. I think what sets me apart in the beauty industry is my approach isn’t about changing how women look or preying on insecurities. I instead believe in enhancing what they have naturally and embracing their unique skin characteristics, colors, textures etc. The beauty industry has long told women that they constantly need to change, improve or somehow better their appearance and I’m reclaiming that long standing trend and instead empowering women to feel good in exactly who they are.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Il Focolare and Lula Drake are my absolute favorite dinner spots in town while Spotted Salamander and Small Sugar are favorites for lunch! I now have a special place in my heart for the Friday night music at Gardeners Outpost in Cottontown and then grabbing dinner at Warmouth or a drink at Vino Garage after. For some relaxation, Shvaas Spa is a unique stop while Avodah Massage Therapy offers the best massages in town!

We’re also lucky to have some awesome breweries in Columbia including Columbia Craft, Savage Craft and WeCo, along with coffee in town at Azalea Coffee or Piecewise. If you need to get a workout in, hit up Level Fitness, Rise Pilates and Fitness or EQ Fitness & Physical Therapy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This one may be cliche but honestly, my mom. Without her none of my success would have been possible. She’s always been my biggest supporter and stands behind me, even when I make daring decisions that make her uneasy or that she doesn’t totally agree with. She likes to say I always land on my feet but it’s repeatedly because I have an incredible support system in her standing behind me.
